CERAMICS!!!

The other day we got to work on our ceramics projects. I made a bowl with many ridges in it which was hard to paint with the red slip, but I got it finished. Then after we fired our bowls, we had to glaze them and then fire them again. After my bowl was finished I used it for the Apex High Soccer Team Party to hold home made salsa in, it rocked!!!

Looks like it's going to be a rough day for Megan Rapinoe.....

Frog Toungue!

Today we worked in photo shop to take these photos:

And turn them into this photo:

The past two days, Mr. Sands is showing us how to use the basics of photoshop and today, we got to create a person with a frog toungue!

PASTELS

  This Week in Art Class we drew still-lifes with pastels. I worked with cool colors and used my finger to blend the pastels together. As you can see in the picture to the left, I have pastel on my face............thanks Cheryl.

Stencils...JUST DO IT!

Our past project was making stencils. First we had to decide on what we were going to make. I decided I was going to make a Nike Check and their slogan "Just Do It." I also cut out the sports section of our local news paper and glued it in the back ground to add some detail. Then I painted the frame and spray painted the stencils on. I'm really happy with how it turend out and I enjoyed doing this project.

 



Skittles, Skittles...and yes, more Skittles.

This week we've been working on our skittles murals. we started out by taking a picture of our selves and uploading it into photoshop. After we did that, we turned the picture into skittles colors and added a gradent to turn it into pixles. Each pixle represents a skittle, and now we are in the process of gluing down all our skittles. This has been a very LONG process so far, but it's actually turning out very well! I think this is going to look really cool once we're done, but after this, I don't think I'm ever going to eat skittles again.

      PORTRAITS!

This is a picture of the boy I drew for our Value Portraits. The picture took alot of time and it was hard to get the shading right. The hardest part would have to be his nose. It took FOREVER to get it to even resemble a real nose. To the left is a picture of me working on my portrait.
